━━━ THE SYSTEM

One architecture, from operator to platform.

XLRS-UAV is a complete command-and-control (C2), data link, video and antenna-tracking architecture designed for any unmanned aerial platform. It integrates the data link, Full HD video transmission, the onboard receiver and the ground control station into one coherent system, with no critical external dependencies.

The command-and-data link is bidirectional and encrypted —frequency hopping (FHSS) and AES-128 across all channels— and operates as a Transparent Data Link: it carries the client’s protocol, MAVLink or proprietary, without imposing a format, integrating with virtually any autopilot or mission-management system. The SATPROV3 tracker keeps the antenna pointed at the vehicle autonomously throughout the mission. Optionally, the (WMX481V3) C2 + Data Link supports a redundant configuration (ground module and onboard receiver over a dual path) for fault tolerance in critical operations.

━━━ WHY XLRS

An architecture, not a loose set of equipment.

Unlike a collection of equipment from different suppliers integrated after the fact, XLRS-UAV is an architecture  conceived as a whole by a single manufacturer. DMD designs, manufactures and supports every element: Hardware, firmware and software, the control station and controls communication end to end. The result is a more robust and coherent system, with a single party accountable.

A SINGLE MANUFACTURER, FULL CONTROL

Full in-house design, manufacturing and support by DMD: hardware, firmware, RF, software and control station. No third-party components in the critical C2 chain. A proprietary, controlled core with open interfaces (transparent data link) to your autopilot or system. A single point of contact for the whole system.

DIRECT HARDWARE CONTROL

The GCS integrates its own control module that manages the C2 link, sensors and alarms, and sends control data directly, without relying on the PC. If the PC fails, critical control is not interrupted; latency is eliminated and determinism is gained.

FULL REAL-TIME SUPERVISION

On a dedicated instrument display the operator sees the status of the entire system in a single view: C2 + Data Link (RSSI, RF noise, frequency/channel, FHSS), SATPROV3 tracker position and status, video quality, power (voltages, currents, battery) and alarms. The operator understands how the system behaves during the mission, not just whether it flies.

RF technology developed and refined in real operation over years. DMD continuously evolves the design, firmware and operating environment, with original-manufacturer support and a long lifecycle — not a closed assembly that becomes obsolete.

One system. One manufacturer. Full engineering control.

Not all manufacturers are manufacturers.

In the unmanned systems sector — whether integrator or self-described manufacturer — most C2 and GCS solutions share the same origin: hardware procured from overseas OEM suppliers, rebranded, and presented as proprietary product. The European or American logo on the enclosure does not reflect who designed the electronics, who holds the firmware, or where the supply chain actually sits.

In defense, official agency and critical infrastructure procurement, this distinction is not academic. Hardware origin, supply chain traceability, firmware control and long-term support accountability are evaluated requirements — not marketing claims.

━━━ OPERATIONAL CHAIN

From the control station to the vehicle, with pointing maintained.

01 — OPERATOR

Ground control station (GCSD5 or GCSD5DUAL). The operator commands the platform and supervises video and system status in real time.

02 — C2 + DATA LINK

The WMX481V3 module transmits command and data over an encrypted bidirectional link (FHSS · AES-128) as a transparent data link, up to 250 km LOS.

03 — TRACKING

The SATPROV3 tracker keeps the antenna pointed at the vehicle autonomously (absolute positioning, no mechanical homing), preserving the link at extended distances.

04 — PLATFORM

The onboard RXLRS receiver delivers control to the autopilot and returns the data channel; the XVHD-SAT transmitter sends Full HD video to the ground station.
