XLRS ecosystem ready: integrates the long-range AES-encrypted C2 data link (up to 250 km LOS, optional dual-module redundancy), Full HD digital video on-screen and the SATPROV3 antenna tracker — or third-party radios, data links and video. Each station is configured to the programme.

━━━ THE PRODUCT

Two operators, one coordinated mission.

GCSD5DUAL is the top-of-range ground control station of the XLRS ecosystem: designed and manufactured as a complete system, not as an assembly of components around a PC. The critical functions — C2 control, power management and thermal regulation — reside in dedicated embedded hardware that operates independently of the mission computer. Pilot and mission operator share the same command infrastructure while maintaining independent physical control of their respective functions. The GCSD5DUAL acts as the hub of the ground system — integrating the XLRS data link, airborne receiver, antenna tracker and video — across a freely configurable four-display environment that distributes command, video, maps and telemetry by mission profile.

This architecture is what distinguishes the GCSD5DUAL from a multi-screen workstation. The dedicated C2 controller handles telemetry, datalink status and antenna tracker management at hardware level — 40 packets/second, without routing through the PC. Power is managed by a custom DC-DC conversion system with solid-state switching and real-time monitoring across all electrical lines. Seven thermal sensors govern active cooling for continuous stable operation under sustained load. The embedded PC runs mission software and displays — and nothing more critical than that.

Because every subsystem is designed and built by DMD, their status is fully visible from the main display in real time: power consumption, battery levels, line temperatures, C2 link quality, datalink, video link and antenna tracker — all monitored from the same platform that controls them.

Field-deployable by design: IP67-rated industrial power connectors, machine-assembled and traceable cable harnesses, and a transport case certified to MIL-STD 810H. Configurable to programme requirements — panel layout, controls, RF integration and display configuration. Compatible with third-party autopilots and ground software; a dedicated XLRS C2 + datalink and RC control link are always recommended as a hardware-level safety backup, regardless of the primary system in use.

Four freely configurable screens for command, video, telemetry and maps. Complete situational awareness distributed by mission profile across both operator workstations.

INTEGRATED SYSTEM MONITORING

Power consumption, battery levels, line temperatures, C2 link quality, datalink, video and tracker status — all monitored in real time from a dedicated display. Full visibility over every subsystem from a single station.

MISSION-GRADE AND CUSTOMISABLE

Built for continuous field operation: IP67 industrial connectors, active thermal management and traceable cable assemblies. Configurable to programme requirements — layout, controls, RF and firmware.

EUROPEAN MANUFACTURER, FULL CONTROL

Designed, manufactured and integrated by DMD in Spain (EU). The system architecture — C2 control, datalink, firmware, power management and XLRS ecosystem integration — is fully proprietary. External subsystems are qualified, assembled and validated in-house. Engineering, integration and system accountability: entirely under DMD control.

━━━ C2 COMMAND AUTHORITY

Two operators. Two independent control authorities. One integrated system.

The GCSD5DUAL assigns dedicated physical controls to both the primary pilot and the payload operator. Each workstation maintains independent hardware authority — no shared input device, no OS dependency on either control path.

DEDICATED RF DATALINK

The C2 link operates as independent hardware — not routed through the mission PC. If the PC freezes or fails, the operator retains full physical command of the vehicle. C2 and data channels run on separate RF links with no shared bandwidth.

DUAL INDEPENDENT AUTHORITY

Primary pilot and payload operator each hold dedicated physical controls for their respective functions. If either mission system fails, neither operator loses hardware authority over their assigned systems.

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE

Physical joysticks, buttons, encoders and switches respond instantly — no software polling cycle, no touchscreen latency. Critical in simultaneous multi-axis command scenarios.

DEFENCE PROCUREMENT READY

Dedicated physical control hardware is a standard requirement in defence and public safety procurement specifications for UAV/UGV operational systems. The GCSD5DUAL is designed to meet these requirements without hardware modifications.

━━━ COMPATIBILITY & ECOSYSTEM

The command hub of the XLRS system.

GCSD5DUAL integrates via Ethernet, RCBUS and SPPM with the C2 + Data link (WMX481V3), the airborne receiver (RXLRS), the antenna tracker (SATPROV3) and the video systems (XVHD). Its open architecture (HDMI, Ethernet, USB, Serial TTL, MAVLink, Transparent Data Link) allows integration of third-party autopilots and systems, subject to interface compatibility.

RC and data: up to 250 km (LOS) with external XLRS module (WMX481V3 + RXLRS), according to configuration and conditions. Digital Video: XVHD up to 150 km (LOS), according to configuration and conditions.
