Smart Base Station
SMBTS is a transmitter of Radio Control and Telemetry mounted on a biquad antenna of 12dBi (BQ89) that significantly improves performance, safety and range in GCSD4-V2, so you can place the antenna further and without loss of RF.
To the whole (SMBTS + BQ89) we call it Smart Antenna.
EVLOS, BVLOS and NLOS.
SMBTS is compatible only with GCSD4V2 or higher versions.
If you need more features and security, use SMRBTSÂ (Smart Redundant Base Station) is a redundant system with two transmitters on different channels or simultaneous dual band.
Connection for Smart Antennas
The Smart Antennas SMBTS (Smart Base Station) and SMRBTS (Redundant Smart Base Station) are connected with a CAT5E ethernet cable or higher to GCSD4V2, the cable can measure from 3 to 10m or more allowing a more comfortable installation of the antennas, especially in vehicles or for another type of application that needs to have the antennas away from GCSD4V2.
Maximum range improvement with SMBTS
Using SMBTS we have avoided RF losses that had the previous GCSD4V1, when the antenna was connected using the coaxial cable.
Now we win up to 2 or 3dB and with the biquad antenna (BQ89) we have up to 12dBi comparing with the 6dBi of the SMP-4G-LTE patch or 9dbi for the SMP-918 patch that is no longer manufactured. Obtaining a gain of 7-8dB that improve the range and almost doubling the current one.
Increase range of system
With the antenna (BQ89) you can easily add one or two biquad elements increasing the total gain of the antenna and therefore the range of the XLRS system.
Consult the current regulations of your country to correct the maximum power allowed in the transmitters.
