The update of the Data Link V1 to V2 brings many improvements.
The box stands out, somewhat larger and better prepared than the previous one, new 6th Generation RF module, Wi-Fi and built-in battery.
Remember that DL1 data links are specialized for telemetry with drones, UAVs, UGVs and many other types of vehicles.
They can also be used for any project such as long-distance point-to-point fixed radio links with transparent protocol. The modulation is 100kb, maximum 150kb.
DL1 V2 is ready for future extensions as an LTE module, diversity, redundant RF in two different bands that differentiates it from any other data link.
By having a battery and Wi-Fi, it can be connected to a PC or Smart Phone without cables, so the PC does not need to be fixed or close to the data link, this allows the data link to be placed in the best possible position to have the best data link, in some cases away from the PC on a tripod even with a directional antenna to increase the link range up to approximately 100km.
More advantages DL1 V2
The 1.5″ TFT IPS color display with encoder allows you to see more parameters and configure the most important values of the data link. The V1 always needed to be configured via USB.
Now it can be configured or monitored simultaneously during communication. This allows you to have an exact idea of the quality of communications at all times, also through the new display.
Many other data links do not have a display, if the communications are about to fail or simply fail, it cannot be prevented or you simply would not have a clue what the problem was.
The box is more robust, with an aluminum front and much more comfortable connectors than the previous version, allowing it to be fixed from the rear with 4 M3 screws to a directional antenna such as the BQ89.
It has a stop-start switch. The previous version was started when connecting the USB, although this is not a problem, the DL1 V2, as it has a battery, is more stable, especially if the laptop through USB is not capable of powering the system or it is just right.
COM5: Mavlink data output can be activated to connect to an inexpensive antenna tracker with mavlink protocol.
Repeater: compatible with the new repeater (in preparation) for NLOS radio links (no sight between the antennas). You can make mobile or fixed links between mountains without direct vision.
200Km option: if necessary, it can be configured for a greater range, depending on the antennas, sometimes it is interesting to have omnidirectional antennas but with increased range or with a directional antenna with ranges of up to 200Km.
For fixed radio links (LOS) with directional antennas between two DL1s, greater ranges or safer and more stable ranges can be obtained when weather conditions are adverse.
